The 28th International Conference of Film Studies Italian Film Production Practices 1949-1976. The Exception and the Rule aims to be a meeting point to reflect on the production models of on the production models of Italian films from 1949 to 1976, in order to understand the relationship between the functioning of the dominant Italian production system and the broader and heterogeneous cultures of production and distribution. This is in order to identify what are the elements, on a legislative, geographical, cultural or technical production order, to establish whether an Italian film is placed within the enclosure of a "norm" or a "standard", or if, on the contrary , constitutes an exception.
